Day Seventeen of Western Adventures

Our day began not as crisp as some mornings, but comfortable, as we made our way toward Zion National Park. In no time, we were in Arizona for a few miles, then into Utah.  We hadn’t had too many days where we visited 3 states in one day.

Arrival at Zion was stunning as we heard many more WOWs and OMG again and again.  The area on the way to the South Entrance has built up considerably since we (Bob and Joyce) visited here on the way back from Utah and the 2002 Olympics.  We all decided that pictures could in no way capture the grandeur of this park, but we took them anyway. We had to take the shuttle into the park and it presented some real challenges to take photos.  It was a “hop on- hop off” and we did that in order to get some decent shots. Here are a few of our favorites.

We were delighted to finally see some rock climbers, and Lydia was the only one to capture them with the camera.  This entire canyon must be a climber’s paradise as well as hikers.  We enjoyed even more vistas of indescribable beauty as we left the canyon and headed to our lodging at Jacob Lake Inn north of the North RIm of the Grand Canyon.

We had changed time when we entered Arizona, not realizing that AZ does not honor daylight time, so we arrived an hour earlier than we thought. We are so mixed up on time, we never know what time zone we are in. Some of our electronics change on their own and others don’t and that really adds to our confusion.
