Planning for the next big trip

Planning has begun for our next big trip.  Biggest decisions were made this past February while the Beehlers and the Miles were sunning on the beaches in Bonita Springs, Florida.  We decided to head West and see as many National Parks as we could in 3-4 weeks time.  Much discussion ensued about when to start as well as from where.  We all agreed that after Labor Day was a good time and that we could start from Indiana.  Next big decision was transportation.  We all explored renting a mini van so we could be assured of plenty of room. However, as it turned out, most vans really didn't have any more room than the Beehler's Ford Flex and most didn't have the sun roof.

We also spent a considerable amount of time looking at all the park possibilities and then trying to  determine the best route.  With Glacier in the mix, we knew we were skirting winter danger and the possibility of the Going-to-the-Sun Road being closed in mid September, but we planned for it anyway and will be in Glacier around September 12-13.  The rest of the parks will all be accessible in the time period we plan to arrive.
